The history of the wardrobe
The wardrobe is also referred to as the armoire commonly. The wardrobe can be defined as the standing closet which can be used for storing your clothes. In the ancient times the wardrobe was more of a chest that was used by the nobles. The chest was the symbol of luxury and grandiose and a separate accommodation was often provided for the same. The apparel of the royalty had to be kept in the finest of the chests and the huge castles often had chests that would match the grandeur of the castle. The purpose of the wardrobe was essentially as a storage space for the homes.
